Assistant Winemaker at Te Kairanga

Born and raised in Wellington when Pete's dream of being a professional cricketer ended, cursed with butter fingers, he found love in a bottle of Burgundy. Pete attended Lincoln University where he became the first undergraduate to produce a medal winning wine from the University's vineyard. After completing vintages in Canterbury, Hawke's Bay, Central Otago and Marlborough he made wine in Australia's Yarra Valley for five years before returning home and starting at Martinborough Vineyard for Vintage 2014.

Pete has been Assistant Winemaker at Te Kairanga since 2017. He is most in his element enjoying crusty bread with cheese and a glass of Pinot noir contemplating the options for next harvest.
