A savoury complexity and silky smooth finish speaks clearly of this most singular place. Named for the compacted blue-grey mudstone that holds tight to the roots of our mature vines, Vavasour Papa Pinot Noir is made from small parcels on the upper terraces.
The stony soils in the Awatere valley the factors that contribute to these characters along with exceptionally skilled winemaking. Cool and crisp, this is a brilliant example of what the Awatere is all about and a fitting tribute to the signature style of Vavasour.
