Toast Weekend at Te Kairanga
Te Kairanga & Lighthouse Gin are making a weekend of it this November 19-20 in celebration of Toast Martinborough 2022.
On Saturday Martinborough’s own Lighthouse Gin will be settling in for an inspired afternoon in Te Kairanga’s shaded cottage garden for the Lighthouse Gin Garden Party. Revellers can expect an afternoon of Lighthouse gin & tonics, cocktails, fine fare from a collection of local food trucks Pickle & Pie, and Good Times Food. Summer tunes will be delivered by local musicians, The Noods. Te Kairanga wines will also be served for those more vinophile than ginophile. Guests will be able to while away the afternoon with dancing, garden games and more.
On Sunday, two of Martinborough’s iconic and oldest wineries, Te Kairanga and Martinborough Vineyard, come together at Te Kairanga to celebrate Toast Martinborough. Settle in to a shady spot under the oaks in the Cottage Garden to savour a glass of Martinborough’s finest from the Garden Bar and revel to the sound of live summer tunes from Bill Hickman, Zoe Moon and Golden Nugget Pawn Shop.
Experience fine and rare wines selected from the library and served by the winemakers themselves at The Vintage Bar. Pinot Noir afficionados won’t want to miss the opportunity to try a preview of the keenly anticipated new release of Martinborough Vineyard’s iconic Marie Zelie, and Te Kairanga’s yet-to-be released WPF Pinot Noir.
The Food Pavilion will offer the perfect culinary accompaniment courtesy of Wellington’s iconic Shed 5 and the kitchen of the luxurious Wharekauhau Country Estate. To finish, sweets and coffee from the Pickle & Pie Sweet Treat Caravan.
